THE MAN BEHIND IT ALL

Born in Manhattan, Mark spent formative years in Malaysia before returning to New York to study at Parsons School of Design, the Fashion Institute of Technology, and New York University. An early internship in Christie’s jewelry department, followed by work with an estate jeweler in Manhattan, gave him close access to exceptional jewels and a lasting respect for fine craftsmanship and good design.

Mark began designing and producing his first jewelry collection in 1999. The fashion press quickly took notice: within months, his work appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, W, and ELLE, and by the end of that year it was available at Bergdorf Goodman and Barneys New York.

Fascinated by materials, mechanisms, and the possibilities of making from an early age, Mark built a complete in-house production facility. There, he conceives, designs, and produces his jewelry with a team of skilled artisans working under his close direction.

In December 2019, after two decades of designing and producing jewelry in New York City, Mark relocated the business to the South Carolina Lowcountry. A purpose-built facility was constructed to his specifications for the company’s work. Today, he often walks to work with his dogs through the woods and beneath live oaks draped in Spanish moss.

After decades as a constant presence in Barneys New York’s jewelry department, Mark has chosen to work with a select group of specialized retailers and directly with established collectors and new clients.
